A mother accidentally burned her kitchen trying to make stir-fried vegetables.

The middle-aged woman heated oil in the wok but large flames erupted when she poured spinach leaves with red chilis onto it in Bangkok, Thailand on November 9.

Footage shows fire spewing from the side of the hot stainless steel pan which reached through the range hood above.

The mum, however, remained calm continuing to stir while her children watched from a distance in the corner of the room.

Her daughter Chatchanok Srichaluay said: 'The Hello Kitty poster in front of the stove was destroyed. We were scared but she said she knew what she was doing.'

No one was hurt but there was burn damage on the kitchen wall.

The family shared the leafy vegetable dish prepared by their mother afterwards.
