Los Angeles, United States - November 12, 2024 11/12/2024 11:30 pm (GMT-0800) SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at the Ralphs supermarket on 8325 Laurel Canyon Blvd. Authorities set up a crime scene inside one of the store’s aisles. A perimeter was also established outside the supermarket. According to the LAPD's news release of the incident, an altercation had occurred between two groups, resulting in one individual shooting at the other group. Two individuals were struck by gunfire. An unknown person transported one individual to a local area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. He is described as a 19-year-old male. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The second individual, an 18-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. LAPD officers later located and arrested 18-year-old Jorge Armenta for murder. He was booked at Van Nuys Jail with $2,000,000 bail, according to the news release.
