A bus carrying a wedding party crashed into a river and killed 26 people in Pakistan.

The vehicle was reportedly speeding when it plunged from the Telchi Bridge into the river in Baltistan, Karachi, on November 12.

Authorities have launched an ongoing rescue operation to recover the victims' bodies. Sixteen individuals have been retrieved from the river, while 12 of the remaining passengers are still missing.

'The operations will involve the Pakistan Navy if necessary,' they added.

Police said that the bride was the only survivor of the crash, but she later died in a hospital from her injuries.

On August 25, two bus-related incidents occurred, which claimed the lives of at least 34 people.
