A red sky appeared in the morning as the Philippines braced for another approaching typhoon.

Footage captured by Yvet Rayala shows the eerie colour of the sky during sunrise at around 5:30 am in Pili, Camarines Sur, Bicol on November 14.

In English folklore, a red sky in the morning is said to be a 'shepherd's warning' whereas a red sky at night is said to be a 'shepherd's delight'.

Meteorologists believe that a reddish sky in the morning could signal bad weather on the way. A red sunrise often indicated that moisture-laden air was moving in, bringing clouds and potentially storms.

Conversely, a red sky at sunset typically suggests that good weather is expected the following day.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated that Tropical Storm Man-Yi is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Thursday evening.

The weather bureau also reported that the tropical storm could intensify into a severe tropical storm by Wednesday and could reach typhoon strength by Thursday afternoon or evening.

Authorities warned of the potential for it to develop into a super typhoon.

The tropical storm was packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the centre, with gusts reaching up to 80 kph.
