Human robot joins marathon in Beijing
This is the incredible moment a humanoid robot joined athletes in a marathon in China.
The futuristic machine named Tiangong participated in the Yizhuang Half Marathon in Beijing, where it ran the last 330 feet (100 metres) of the track on November 10.
Footage shows Tiangong serving as a 'closing paser' as it jogged alongside racers wearing cute bunny ears near the finish line.
Tiangong stands at six ft (163cm) and weighs 95 lbs (43 kg) and was created by the National and Local Co-Built Embodied Intelligence Robot Innovation Center.
Humanoid robots are being developed in several countries but China and the United States are leading the 'tech arms race'.
In Texas, Elon Musk's Tesla hopes to have its version of a human-robot called Optimus available for sale in 2026.
Musk - who had a prominent role in the recent US election victory of Donald Trump - recently presented Optimus, describing it as a multi-functional assistant that could handle household chores, play with children, and assist with various repetitive tasks.
