Couple comes home to find koala bear in their bedroom
A couple were left stunned when they found a koala bear in their bedroom.
Francielle Dias Rufino, 32, and her husband Brunno, 34, had just got home around 12:30 am on Wednesday (13/11) when they found the marsupial.
The couple did not realise the koala was inside their home until Francielle went to check on their dog Aruk,11, and found the koala lounging on the dog's bed.
Francielle, who moved to Australia from Brazil with her husband Brunno, two-and-a-half years ago screamed out to her husband in Portuguese.
Brunno, a small business owner in Adelaide, Australia, said: " We were so excited and shocked to see the Koala that we both started speaking in our native language."
"We almost forgot English."
"She started screaming and I thought she'd found a spider - she's terrified of them. "
"But then she yelled 'There's a koala in the bedroom!' "
"I didn't believe her at first."
"Our house was locked up so I couldn't imagine how a koala could have gotten in."
The couple suspects the koala likely snuck in through their dog door.
Francielle quickly called an animal rescue group but they were not open, so Brunno
used a dog blanket to encourage the koala out the front door.
Brunno said: "At first it was hissing at me and tried to bite on the shirt when I tried to guide it. "
"Then I used our dog's blanket to nudge it out instead."
Instead of heading straight for the front door, the koala dashed into the kitchen and Brunno had to gently coax it back towards the front door.
Eventually, the furry visitor found its way outside.
The couple later checked the bedroom and found no mess or damage, although they opted to change the bedding as a precaution.
Brunno said: "We were talking about it until 3:30 in the morning"
"My wife loves koalas and I was perplexed, honestly."
