Chivardan ceremony organized in the courtyard of Laos Monastery, Buddhist devotees from many countries participated in Bodhgaya, Northern India

On 14 November Thursday A solemn Chivardan ceremony was organized in the courtyard of Laos Monastery in Bodhgaya, the land of knowledge of Lord Buddha, in which Buddhist monks and devotees from many countries of the world participated.

The program started with puja as per Buddhist tradition. After this religious ritual which lasted for several hours, robes were donated to the Buddhist monks.

Bhante Sainsana Buddhist Wang, a Buddhist monk from Laos country, said that there is a tradition among Buddhist monks to donate their clothes after the rainy season of 3 months. This Chivardaan ceremony continues for a month in various Mahaviharas. During this time, religious prayers are performed and Buddhist monks are also given robes, wearing which they perform meditation and penance.

Today, about 200 Buddhist monks have been given robes, in which people from many countries including Laos, America, Cambodia, Australia, Myanmar have participated. Many of these are those who have come to Bodh Gaya for the first time. After coming to Bodh Gaya, he has taken part in religious rituals, due to which he is feeling very happy.
