Firemen searched the ditches in Valencia, Spain, after flooding caused by the DANA storm.

Footage shows Cantabria firefighters navigating through the flooded terrain of Albufera on November 13, searching for missing residents.

Officials have confirmed at least 217 fatalities from the destructive weather system that struck on October 29.

On Wednesday, severe thunderstorms and torrential rain from a new DANA once again struck coastal Spain, causing damage but no casualties - just two weeks after the deadly flash floods that had wreaked havoc in Valencia.

The DANA occurs when cold and warm air masses converge to form rain clouds. This type of extreme weather is believed to be becoming more frequent due to climate change.
