London, UK - November 12, 2024 November 12, 6:12 p.m.: A routine patrol turned into a life-saving mission for London Police Officers Dylan Fout and Denise Dye. While patrolling the city’s south side, Ofc. Fout spotted a young boy walking alone on the sidewalk and decided to investigate. Moments later, the officers received a 911 call about a missing 5-year-old autistic boy. As they continued searching the area on foot, Ofc. Fout spotted the child in a nearby creek, partially submerged in 3 feet of cold water. Without hesitation, he entered the 40-degree creek and rescued the boy, pulling him to safety. The child, conscious but distressed, began vomiting due to the frigid exposure and was quickly attended to by medics from London Fire. He was transported to Madison Health for observation and later released in stable condition. The quick response and sharp vigilance of Ofc. Fout were crucial in preventing tragedy. The London Police Department commended Ofc. Fout’s keen observations and swift actions that saved the boy from imminent danger.
