France: Chinese fashion show co-hosted by CMG staged in Paris
[Note: undated footage] A fashion show co-hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and the China Silk Museum was staged at the National Museum of Asian Arts-Guimet in Paris, offering a distinctive experience infused with Eastern aesthetics. The event, which began on Oct 13, featured models showcasing a range of collections that highlighted the beauty of China's silk. "This remarkable fashion show not only highlighted Chinese silk art but also celebrated the creativity of the Chinese people. It's a privilege to host this event here at the Guimet Museum, which, like all our events, commemorates the enduring friendship between China and France," said Yannick Lintz, President of Guimet Museum. The event showcased a collaborative design team that brought together artists from both countries. Drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese aesthetics, the artists presented a collection that blended modern fashion with tradition, including designs influenced by patterns from ancient Silk Road artifacts. "We invited some French designers to join us for this event, with the hope that they would blend traditional Chinese culture into contemporary fashion design. I believe this signifies a rich exchange between Eastern and Western cultures," said Cui Rongrong, Director of the School of Fashion Design and Engineering under Zhejiang Sci-Tech University. "Chinese and French designers have collaborated to innovate using the artistic legacies of the ancient Silk Road. By showcasing the works in Paris, we hope more people can see how this cultural heritage enriches contemporary life and discover the beauty of ancient silk artistry," said Ji Xiaofeng, Director of China Silk Museum. The event also attracted professionals from France's cultural, educational and industrial sectors, all aimed at promoting bilateral exchanges. This year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
