Thai Buddhists celebrate Ghost Festival with large masks on floats
Thai Buddhists celebrated the Ghost Festival with large masks on floats.
Footage shows locals and tourists flocking the street during the event of Phi Ta Khon as gigantic masks were paraded on decorated vehicles in Loei province.
The Phi Ta Khon festival, also known as the Ghost Festival or the Festival of the Hungry Ghosts, is a vibrant and colourful Buddhist festival held annually in the northeastern Thai provinces.
One of the most striking features of the festival is the elaborate costumes and masks worn by participants. These masks, often depicting fearsome figures and mythical creatures, are said to ward off evil spirits and appease the hungry ghosts.
