New York, United States - November 12, 2024 In light of the latest Food Security Report on Gaza released by the United Nations, many countries expressed deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip during a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday. An Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) Famine Review Committee alert on the Gaza Strip published on Nov 8, 2024 said that there is a likelihood that famine is imminent in Gaza. At the UN Security Council meeting, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya stated that the United States' political support for Israel is a key factor behind the humanitarian disaster. Riyad Mansour, permanent observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, challenged Israel to allow international media into Gaza so they could witness the situation firsthand. Frankly, our American counterparts have deliberately led us in circles to give Israel more time to carry out its plan—to wipe out as many Palestinians as possible in Gaza and turn the region into a completely uninhabitable area. It is time to take action."; FILE: Israel - Nov 1, 2022 4. Israeli Parliament Knesset, national flag of Israel; Beit Lahia, Gaza Strip - Oct 29, 2024 5.
