A Turkish scholar has said that the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) mechanism plays a crucial role in fostering economic cooperation and integration across the Asia-Pacific region, and China is playing an active role.

"This year's APEC summit in Peru is another important step to integrate further within the Asia-Pacific economies including China, other East Asian countries and Pacific countries.
The Chinese economy is characteristic, there's a continuous opening up to the international market and the international world.
China has become the second-largest economy, having very strong connections with many other countries, particularly in the Asia-Pacific (region).
Chinese modernization has a huge success, not only for the development model but also for the transformation of the country.
And currently, China is focusing more on high-tech development and also more value-added productions depending on very high-skilled labor force.
So the Chinese model has been closely watched and also there is a deepening integration of economies, particularly in the Asia-Pacific area."
