The doctor used an endoscope and was extremely surprised to see a fly and dozens of fly larvae living in the man's ear canal. Perhaps the fly had crawled into the man's ear and then laid fly eggs and the fly larvae had lived as parasites in the man's ear canal.
The man's ear was damaged by the fly larvae. It will take several weeks to treat.
