Severe snowfall hit Cottonwood Canyons, Utah, on Friday, November 15.

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) warned drivers on SR-190 and SR-210 as heavy snow has left roads slick and snow-covered.

Crews reported six inches of snow in the canyons, with slush in lower to mid-sections and dense snow in the upper areas.

Despite ploughing efforts, motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution, especially above Cardiff (MP 10), where conditions are reportedly worst.

Authorities warn that icy patches remain a serious hazard.

In a separate weather event, snow fell for the first time in the Saudi Arabian desert on November 4.

State media reported heavy rains and significant hailstorms in parts of the Kingdom's Al-Jawf region.

The United Arab Emirates National Centre of Meteorology attributed the unusual weather to a low-pressure system moving from the Arabian Sea to Oman.
