Worshippers gathered on a beach to celebrate the full moon in India.

Thousands of devotees assembled at Sangam Beach, Dashashwamedh Ghat, Ramghat, and Baluaghat to bathe in the holy waters and seek blessings on the full moon day of Kartik month in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on November 15.

Aerial footage shows hundreds of worshippers on the riverbanks, some immersing in the water, while others offering donations to pilgrim priests and lit lamps at the ghats.

Colourful flags on the wooden boats can be seen in the water with worshippers on board.

The event began early in the morning and concluded by 10 am.

Local reports said that lamp donations would be held in homes later in the evening.

The full moon day of Kartik month, known as Kartik Purnima, is a highly significant occasion across India and neighbouring countries. It is celebrated with religious devotion and cultural activities.

Kartik is regarded as one of the holiest months in the Hindu calendar, during which devotees observe prayers, fasting, and rituals, culminating in the celebrations of Kartik Purnima.
