Violent clashes erupted between protesters, police, and journalists during a rally in Tbilisi, Georgia, on November 19 disputing last month's election results.

According to reports, a cameraman from Mtavari Arkh, a private TV company, was amongst the 16 people arrested.

Sergi Baramidze, the operator of the "Mtavari Arkhi", was among those arrested during the confrontation between the police and the protestors on Melikishvili avenue.

Baramidze was arrested at the time when he was performing his official duty and was recording the ongoing events with a video camera - specifically, one of the cases of the confrontation.

According to the information of the TV company, the law enforcement officers physically assaulted the cameraman during the arrest.
This morning, the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested a total of 16 people during the rally on Chavchavadze and Melikishvili avenues in Tbilisi.

For information, the participants of the rally, who spent the night on Chavchavadze Avenue last night, were called by the law enforcement officers to disband at dawn today. The law enforcers also destroyed the tents belonging to the protesters. There was also a physical confrontation between the participants of the rally and the law enforcement officers.The so-called pepper spray was probably used on Melikishvili Avenue. The confrontation between the police and the protestors on the avenue continues until now.

The confrontation started after the police called the protesters to leave the avenue.

Several persons are arrested. In addition to the arrested, one person was injured and was taken out of the area by an ambulance.
