Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - November 18, 2024 Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday that China and Britain should jointly write the next chapter of healthy and stable development of bilateral relations and better reflect the value of the era and global significance of the bilateral relationship. Xi made the remarks when meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the sidelines of the 19th G20 Leaders' Summit in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro. For his part, Starmer said he was pleased to have an opportunity to meet Xi in person after holding phone talks with the Chinese president back in August. He said that an enduring and strong bilateral relationship is vital not only for the two countries but also for the world at large.
