Super Typhoon Man-yi aftermath captured in drone video
A drone video captured the heartbreaking aftermath of Super Typhoon Man-Yi which killed at least eight people in the Philippines.
Footage shows destroyed houses, felled coconut trees, and debris filling the streets in Catanduanes province on November 19.
The coastal village was badly damaged by the storm, with properties that stood on the beachfront the worst hit.
Resident Shara Mae Manlangit said she flew the device around to see the extent of destruction in their place.
She said: 'That was the heartbreaking aftermath of Typhoon Pepito. So many houses were destroyed, leaving almost nothing behind.
'We were left in ruins. It is truly painful to see families who lost everything forced to start over from nothing.
'Despite the overwhelming loss and despair, you can still see smiles on the faces of the people, finding strength and hope even in the darkest moments. Their resilience is both inspiring and deeply saddening.'
Super Typhoon Man-yi, locally named Pepito, was the archipelago's 16th tropical cyclone this year and the sixth major storm to ravage its island in under a month. It killed at least eight people.
The typhoon made landfall twice as a super typhoon before weakening and leaving the country on Monday, November 18. It was expected to reach Hainan, China on November 20 travelling northwestward.
The typhoon comes days only after five other storms Toraji, Trami, Yinxing, Kong-rey and Usagi killed hundreds, displaced thousands and caused widespread damage.
