In China, this shift has been particularly pronounced. At Bengbu Technician College, students are immersed in a hands-on learning environment. For them, the learning experience has been both fun and challenging. Majors such as industrial robotics application and new energy vehicle inspection are popular among students. (Sound_bite) Liang Zongyi, Student, Bengbu Technician College: "I discovered the new energy vehicle major through short videos and was drawn to its promising future. I'm determined to enhance my skills and build a career in this field." The school’s newly added major which focuses on new energy vehicle has an enrollment of over 700 students. Through partnerships with enterprises, senior students get the opportunity to intern at the factories. The training they receive prepares them to handle most of the typical tasks, making them almost as proficient as regular employees. The enterprises are very satisfied with our students' ability to adapt quickly and their excellent practical skills." To keep up with this trend, the school offers advanced courses that include basic programming instruction. This enables students to operate high-tech equipment which has become more and more common in factories. (Sound_bite) Sun Chenxin, Student, Bengbu Technician College: "I chose the robotics major out of personal interest. I enjoy operating the robots and learning how to code and program." (Voice_over) Vocational education institutions play a crucial role in bridging the gap between on-campus learning and the practical skills required by industries. Anhui's efforts in vocational education are part of a larger national strategy as China transitions towards a more technology-driven economy. Industry insiders say, as more regions and institutions adopt similar educational strategies, a more vibrant and competitive manufacturing sector in China is expected.
