Los Angeles, United States - November 20, 2024 11/20/2024 01:34 am (GMT-0800) HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES – Firefighters battled a blaze, consuming a laundromat contained within a one-story row of a commercial building early Wednesday morning. Los Angeles Fire Department crews were dispatched to the 1000 block of North St. Andrews Place in Hollywood shortly after 1:30 a.m. for a structure fire. Firefighters immediately began the firefight in offensive mode while requesting additional resources. According to LAFD Spokesperson Margaret Stewart, 74 firefighters at the scene achieved knockdown at 2:01 a.m., and no injuries were reported. Crews held the fire to the laundromat, the unit of origin, preventing it from spreading to the common attic or adjoining units, reported Stewart. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
