Los Angeles, United States - November 20, 2024 11/20/2024 09:14 am (GMT-0800) LANCASTER, Calif. – Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lancaster Station and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a call regarding an overturned water tanker near West Avenue J and the 14 Freeway on Wednesday morning. The caller reported that the tanker had overturned, trapping a person inside. Upon arrival, deputies located the overturned water tanker with one individual still trapped in the cab. Taking swift action, deputies worked to free the driver as water continuously spilled from the tanker, rising into the cab. Los Angeles County Fire personnel had not yet arrived, leaving the deputies to act alone. The driver, identified as a construction worker at the site, was successfully rescued and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. California Highway Patrol officers arrived shortly thereafter to take over the investigation. The cause of the accident remains unknown and is under investigation. Site personnel indicated that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) would be notified.
