A 'UFO' seen flying over Puerto Rico was not extraterrestrial, the U.S. intelligence service has claimed.

Authorities said that the mysterious objects spotted flying at incredible speeds over Puerto Rico, which had sparked fears of UFOs, were ordinary items carried by strong winds.

The incident occurred on April 26, 2013, with the footage recently analysed and clarified by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO).

The infrared footage showed what appeared to be a UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) moving rapidly over Rafael Hernandez Airport near Aguadilla.

At one point, the object seemed to split into two, interacting with the ocean's surface before vanishing off the north-western coast of Puerto Rico.

Initially, the incident was considered a potential UFO sighting that could neither be confirmed nor denied. However, after a high-confidence assessment by AARO, it was concluded that no anomalous speeds or flight behaviours were involved.

An analysis by an Intelligence Community partner reconstructed the objects' flight path and sensor angles, determining that the footage depicted two objects travelling near each other at wind speed, rather than a single object splitting into two.

The reconstruction also showed that the objects followed a straight path and did not enter the water, contrary to earlier impressions.

US intelligence concluded that it was most likely something being carried by strong winds.

In 2020, President-elect Donald Trump mentioned hearing 'interesting things' about the Roswell UFO incident, though he declined to share specifics then.

Recently, local media reported that a close ally of Trump claimed to have been told that all secret alien files would soon be disclosed.

The Roswell incident is a conspiracy theory suggesting that the 1947 United States Army Air Forces balloon debris recovered near Roswell, New Mexico, was a crashed extraterrestrial spacecraft.
