Senior Russian naval officer is killed in Crimea car bombing
This footage reportedly shows the moment a senior Russian naval officer is killed in a car bombing in Crimea.
The video, released by the Federal Security Service (FSB), allegedly shows Valery Trankovsky, 47, a naval captain and Chief of Staff of the 41st Brigade of Missile Ships and Boats, being blown up in his vehicle as it drives over a speed bump.
The bombing occurred in Sevastopol on November 13.
Other FSB images show the detention and interrogation of agents believed to be from Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), as well as Russian investigators collecting evidence, including what seems to be a makeshift bomb.
Additional proof includes communication devices, identity papers, and a hollow fire extinguisher, which may have been used for smuggling.
The final part of the clip shows the aftermath of the explosion.
Russian media said emergency workers attempted to rescue Trankovsky but were unsuccessful.
Mikhail Razvozhaev, the Russian-appointed governor of Sevastopol, called the attack an act of sabotage against the naval officer.
Two suspects, a 47-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, were arrested for the bombing. The couple claimed to have been recruited by the SBU to make and detonate the bomb.
Ukrainian media reports suggest Trankovsky was involved in missile strikes against Ukraine and that his wife previously held Ukrainian citizenship and lived in Sevastopol before Russia's occupation.
