Nanchong, China - November 18, 2024 [WARNING: (Video contains) sensitive content] A seemingly innocent mosquito caused a dangerous crash in Yingshan County, Sichuan, when a driver distracted by the insect collided with a pedestrian on the roadside. In a video captured at the scene, the driver, Huang, is seen swatting at the mosquito inside his car. In that brief moment of distraction, he veered off course and struck Xiang, who was walking along the road. The impact left Xiang injured and damaged the vehicle. While the crash has been deemed the result of driver distraction, local authorities jokingly pointed the finger at the mosquito, emphasizing the importance of staying focused behind the wheel. "Even the smallest of distractions can have big consequences," officials warned, urging drivers to keep their attention on the road—mosquitoes included.
