The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District collected debris from Hurricane Helene in Georgia.

Footage shows authorities and contractor crews during the cleanup mission on November 23.

The operation, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), covers 10 counties and aims to remove an estimated 1.9 million cubic yards of storm debris.

Hurricane Helene struck the U.S. in late September 2024 as a devastating Category 4 storm that made landfall in Florida's Big Bend area. More than 230 fatalities were reported, and billions of dollars in damages occurred due to storm surges, extreme rainfall, and wind-related destruction as the storm moved rapidly inland.
