Vientiane, Laos - Recent Chinese and Lao armies have conducted full-process joint training recently at Phonhong Railway Station in Vientiane, Laos, during the "Peace Train-2024" humanitarian medical rescue exercise, to improve joint rescue capabilities of both armed forces. The humanitarian medical rescue exercise, which started on November 16 and will last till late this month, consists of three phases - mixed joint training, full-process joint training and field drill. The training simulated a situation that after an earthquake, search and rescue forces of both sides quickly entered the quake-hit area to search for and rescue the injured and those in distress. The China-Laos joint medical rescue team organized triage, conducted emergency treatment and tests on the injured and sick, and used rescue helicopters and field ambulances to send the severely injured people to a train-turned hospital. The accommodation and disposal team, the critical care team, and the surgical team quickly determined the medical treatment plan, performed damage control operations, and organized joint consultations.
