Los Angeles, United States - November 21, 2024 11/21/2024 12:00 pm (GMT-0800) CHATSWORTH, LOS ANGELES – Location: 118 Freeway and Desoto. A report of a bomb on the 118 Freeway prompted a large response from the California Highway Patrol and the LAPD Bomb Squad. According to initial information regarding the incident, an object described as a pipe was on the freeway. It was unclear what made officials believe it was a possible bomb.The LAPD Bomb Squad utilized their robot to either disable the device or determine it was not a threat. CHP had all eastbound lanes of the 118 Freeway closed for roughly 30 minutes while LAPD worked on the device. The incident unfolded sometime before noon and was deemed safe at approximately 1:30 p.m.It is unclear if Sierra Canyon High School was placed on lockdown (their campus is adjacent to the freeway). No injuries were reported.
