Varanasi, India - November 19, 2024 A mischievous monkey caused significant damage to a car's sunroof in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, shattering it upon landing after falling from above. Thankfully, the monkey escaped unscathed, but the incident has sparked concerns over increasing monkey-related disturbances in the city. The incident took place in the Visheshwarganj area of Varanasi on November 19. Visuals showed a monkey falling from above and crashing through the sunroof of an SUV parked on the road. The monkey landed inside the car, causing the glass to shatter. The sound of the impact caught the attention of nearby pedestrians, who stopped to witness the unusual sight. Speaking to Newslions, the owner of the car Himanshu Jaiswal said that it occurred at around 2:30 PM. Fortunately, the monkey did not appear to sustain any injuries and quickly jumped out of the car before fleeing the scene. The increasing frequency of such incidents has raised concerns among residents, with many calling for stronger measures to address the issue of monkeys causing damage to properties and disrupting daily life in the city.
