This is the heartwarming moment a puppy was rescued from a rubbish-filled well in India.

The wildlife workers from the Atal Kamdhenu Gau Sewa Sansthan team found the dog stuck in the filthy, water-filled pit in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, on November 22.

Footage shows the rescuers using a rope to lift the dog out of the hole. Moments later, they safely brought it out and comforted it by gently petting it.

Local reports said that the animal did not sustain any serious injuries from the incident.

Atal Kamdhenu Gau Sewa Sansthan, founded by Deepak Upadhyay and Guru Prabhakar Mishra in 2017, is dedicated to providing a safe haven for abused animals and offering them medical treatment.
