This is the moment a family of polar bears is spotted in a northern Siberian settlement, searching for food.

The footage was filmed at the Kharasavey natural gas field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Russia, on Thursday, October 31.

The video shows three polar bears wandering through the snow, seemingly sniffing for food.

Captured by one of the workers at the natural gas field, the clip shows him opening his window to shoo the bears away and quickly closing it as they approach.

He opens the window again to drive them off before the footage ends.

Local media reports that the man was heard saying in Russian: 'Get out of here! Get out of here. No, I won't give you anything.'

They then reportedly lay down in the snow in a bid to wait for prey but ended up leaving the settlement empty-handed.

Polar bears are powerful Arctic predators known for their impressive size and ability to traverse vast icy expanses.
