This is the shocking moment a flowerpot falls on a child, narrowly missing his head as it shatters on the table where he is sitting with his sister.

The incident took place in Chengdu, Sichuan province, China, on November 16.

CCTV Footage shows the young boy sitting on a stool at a market counter when the flowerpot suddenly crashes down in front of him, hitting his hand and causing his sister to jump up in fright.

The children's mother, Ms Meng, said the plant pot had accidentally slipped from the hands of a resident on the fourth floor.

The resident immediately helped take the children to the hospital for a check-up, and medics confirmed that neither child was harmed.

Ms Meng said both parties have since reconciled, as she understands it was an accident, but she reminded everyone not to place plant pots outside windows.
