Pensioners had fun plunging their faces into white powder for hilarious party games at a village sports day.

The grandfather and grandmothers joined the event organised by Najan Subdistrict Municipality school for the elderly featuring wacky activities in Kalasin province, Thailand.

Footage shows a colourful parade of women wearing bright cocktail dresses, marking the start of the gathering.

The mini-contests followed, including the flour game, in which the participants had to blow off the starch to reveal the coins buried underneath.

Other games included a banana-eating race, a balloon-popping competition, and a tag race around chairs.

Their grandchildren watched the event, cheering for the elderly participants.

School director Wassana Noinajan said: 'The event aims to foster unity and support as well as boost physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our students.'

More than 80 pensioners signed up for the games, and the school director added it was a success.

The director said: 'They paraded into the municipality office. We also have several guests like Chalermkwan Lortrakoon who is the municipal chief executive.

'We prepared traditional dance performances for everyone who was present.'

The school director said: 'All students are happy and healthy, with a strong determination to live long.

'A nurse team and ambulance were on standby in case of any emergency so we all just had fun.'
