More than a dozen Glen Powell lookalikes gathered in the actor's hometown to win a unique prize - a cameo in his next film.

A total 19 men, who claim to look like the Top Gun: Maverick star, showed up at Auditorium Shores park in Austin, Texas, on Sunday (24/11) to stake their claims.

Glen Powell even made a brief "appearance" by sending over a video of himself and"

promised the winner's parents a cameo in his next film.

Video shows the contestants really getting into the spirit with most having come in costume to represent a specific character.

The winner Max Braunstein was handed a phony cheque for "some money" and crowned with black cowboy hat."

Serena Ytuarte, 24, a digital creator in San Antonio, Texas, said: "The crowd was electric."

"We were all having a great time cheering people on and chanting 'Glen, Glen, Glen'. "

"Everyone was very engaging and had high energy. "

"I think the winner did resemble him a lot, given the outfit he was wearing definitely helped him secure first place. "

"He also had Glen's facial expressions down to a tee."
