Electric car takes to the roads in India
This was the impressive moment when an electric car took to the roads in India.
Footage shows the yellow Bose 100, the first electric car designed in Odisha state, hitting the highway on November 24.
The vehicle was conceptualised, designed, and built by mechanical engineering students and faculty members at Bhubanananda Odisha School of Engineering (BOSE).
Powered by a 60-volt electric system and a 2-kilowatt BLDC motor, the car offers a range of 100 kilometres on a single charge.
It uses cost-effective spare parts from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for key components like suspension, braking, and steering.
One of the learners said: 'Guided by our mentors, we undertook the challenging task of fabricating every aspect of the car, from welding the chassis to fitting the suspension and ensuring precise alignments.'
Students said this electric vehicle is not merely a technological marvel but a proud tribute to 100 years of BOSE's legacy.
Bhubanananda Odisha School of Engineering (BOSE) is the oldest technical college in Odisha.
