Police are searching for a gunman who remains at large after shooting three people dead in northern Thailand.

Samart Teepakbanjod, 57, opened fire killing the three victims in Nong Bua Lamphu province on Wednesday morning at around 6.30 am local time.

CCTV footage showed Samart wearing black clothing before producing a gun. He approached a victim sweeping the road and shot him.

The first victim's daughter was also injured in the shooting and was transported to Si Bun Rueang Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Samart then shot another man in the village, who died at the scene.

Officers said that Samart fled on his blue motorcycle, heading towards Na Klang and Mueang Nong Bua Lamphu districts.

Residents told local media that Samart knew the victims. They claim he had lent money to them and taken their credit cards as loans.
