A garbage truck lost control on a sharp bend and toppled over as it crashed into a house.

CCTV shows the rubbish collection vehicle as it speeds around the curve and hits the building in Chachoengsao, Thailand, on November 25.

Police Major Sitthisak Buathara said officers arrived on the scene first before calling paramedics. He said the truck was driven by Cambodian Aueng Khuat, 22, with his friend sitting in the passenger seat.

Neither of them was seriously hurt and both emerged from the overturned green Isuzu six-wheeler without any injuries.

Aueng said that he drives the full dustbin lorry from Samut Prakan to dump at the landfill in Chachoengsao every day.

Before the incident, he was approaching the curve and was unable to brake due to tyres with no tread, which caused the vehicle to slide off the road and crash.

The house owner, Wes Sapcharoen, 82, was lying in a hammock around 33ft (10m) from where the truck crashed. He said that he was sleeping before hearing the sound of the crash, with bricks falling down and dust scattering.

Wes initially thought a bicycle had hit the door but stood up and saw the garbage truck had collided with his house.

He added that he was extremely shocked and felt lucky that the truck stopped before sliding to where he was sleeping.

Apartment owner Praewphan Kobkaew, 57, recounted that she was working in the room downstairs when she first heard the sound of acceleration from a distance, followed by a loud collision.

She initially thought it had hit someone's wall before realising it was her apartment.

Sitthisak said: ‘We told the driver to contact his employer to call the insurance company to discuss all the damage.'

‘We also brought him to the station for further interrogation to investigate the cause of the accident and take further legal action.'
