In the past 24 hours, Israeli military operations in Gaza caused 14 deaths and 108 injuries, according to the statement. According to reports from Palestinian media outlets, on Tuesday afternoon, the Israeli military bombed a school in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in northern Gaza. In response, the Israeli military confirmed the attack on the school that same day, claiming that the school had been used by Hamas militants as a command and control center. Furthermore, at a gathering of Israeli settler advocacy groups in Jerusalem on Monday, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich declared that the Israeli occupation of Gaza is "achievable and essential". Smotrich went as far as asserting plans to decrease the Palestinian population in Gaza by more than half within two years through what he called "voluntary migration".
