A wild monitor lizard sauntered past fitness fanatics doing aerobics in the park.

The reptile was spotted ambling along the path next to the greenery in Bangkok, Thailand.

Footage shows the animal emerging from nearby bushes and creeping toward a grass field.

The filmer jokingly said: 'It was headed to the restroom area. I just thought that it might have been looking to use the restroom.'

Asian water monitor lizards normally live in canals, swamps, sewers and ponds in cities in Thailand. They feed on fish, snakes, frogs and scraps of food left by humans.

The reptiles are aggressive when threatened and have a mildly venomous bite which sometimes carries harmful bacteria. The Godzilla-like reptiles are also a protected species in the country so their population thrives.
