Yala Province in southern Thailand is grappling with intense flash flooding as rising waters continue to overwhelm local communities. The footage, captured on November 27, 2024, at around 7:30 AM, highlights the severity of the situation, with floodwaters rising faster and higher than in previous years. Heavy rainfall throughout the day and night has left the sky dark and gloomy, exacerbating the crisis.

In the Hat Yai district’s Ban Phru Moo 8 village, over 100 households have been forced to evacuate as floodwaters reached a height of 1.5 meters. Local infrastructure, including Kanchanawanit Road, has been submerged, disrupting daily life. Economic areas near Yala City Municipality are also affected, with flooding of up to 0.5 meters.

Authorities have taken action, temporarily closing Phiphit Phakdi Road near the Yala railway station and the intersection near Yala Rama Hotel due to rising floodwaters. In response to the escalating situation, residents have been moving their belongings to higher ground, while six stray dogs have been rescued and relocated to a safe zone at Khwan Mueang Park.

As the flooding continues to intensify, local authorities are working to ensure the safety of affected residents and provide necessary assistance.
