Six fishermen stranded at sea during Cyclone Fengal were rescued in India.

Reports said the rough seas destroyed the fishermen's boats on Thursday, November 28, leaving them stranded at Chemplast Jetty in Cuddalore, around two miles offshore near Chitrapettai hamlet.

Footage shows the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) conducting the rescue operation after Tamil Nadu state authorities requested it.

In addition to the six fishers, four jetty workers were also saved.

All ten individuals were airlifted by helicopter and safely evacuated to Chitrapettai.

Cyclone Fengal is expected to weaken as it approaches Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Heavy rains, strong winds, and landfall near Puducherry are forecast for Saturday.
