Lebanon - Recent The death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon in the latest round of Israel-Hezbollah conflict that broke out on October 8, 2023 has climbed to 3,961, with injuries rising to 16,520, said Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health on Thursday. The death toll had been revised as more victims were found beneath the rubble, the ministry said. Israel's security cabinet approved a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah on Tuesday night, which came into effect on Wednesday morning, according to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office. However, the Lebanese army issued a statement on Thursday, saying that from Wednesday to Thursday, the Israeli army repeatedly violated the ceasefire agreement by breaching Lebanese airspace and using various weapons to target Lebanese territory. The statement also mentioned that they are coordinating with relevant parties to address these violations. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement on Thursday announcing that the Israeli army conducted an airstrike on a Hezbollah facility in southern Lebanon that day. The IDF claimed that the facility was used to store medium-range rockets, and Israeli warplanes targeted it after confirming Hezbollah's activities. The statement also noted that Israeli troops remain stationed in southern Lebanon and are actively working to address any violations of the ceasefire agreement. Later that day, the IDF issued another statement announcing that an airstrike had been launched against two Hezbollah members who had entered a rocket-launching site in southern Lebanon. Additionally, the IDF fired warning shots in various areas of the region to disperse Hezbollah members attempting to approach the border. The statement emphasized that the IDF is working actively to implement the ceasefire agreement, prevent Hezbollah from rearming, and rebuilding infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
