US, Los Angeles: Sylmar Firefighters Have Difficulty Shutting Off Hydrant After Crash

Los Angeles, United States - November 29, 2024 11/29/2024 09:10 pm (GMT-0800) SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES – LAFD m LAPD responded to a crash involving city property in the 13000 block of North Bradley Avenue in Sylmar. Firefighters arrived to find a white Chevy sedan had struck a fire hydrant.The sheared hydrant sent water shooting over 50 feet into the air. Firefighters experienced difficulty finding the valve to shut off the hydrant.Crews requested the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to respond to the scene.It was an hour since dispatch, and the hydrant was still gushing. The driver of the Chevy was not injured.
