Raccoon trapped in cat cage returned to the wild
A raccoon trapped in a cat cage was returned to the wild.
Ventura County Animal Services responded to a call about a raccoon caught in a trap set for two missing cats in California on November 28.
Footage shows Officer Hansen opening the latch of the metal cage, prompting the animal to run away freely.
Local media reports said that the family's home was destroyed in a mountain fire, causing their two kittens to go missing.
They continued to search for the furry creatures and placed a trap near the ashes and remains of their house, hoping the cats would come back.
