Python creeps along metal bars of garden gate
A large python slithered along a garden gate unnoticed while a resident entered to park his motorbike.
CCTV footage shows the serpent inching on the metal bars of the fence with its body curving alternately between the spaces in Chonburi, Thailand, on November 21 evening.
As it was dark, the local did not immediately see the snake lying above him as he pushed open the gate and pulled his two-wheeler back inside.
However, it was discovered by the house owner who watched the security cameras when they heard someone entering the property.
A rescue truck was called to the house to evacuate the snake that was still in the fence when they arrived.
The shaken resident said: 'Our tenant did not see the snake. It was not there five minutes before he arrived.'
The python was taken to the rescue facility and later released into the wild.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
