Mist rose from a canyon, creating an eerie scene in Colorado.

Footage shows fog swirling upward through the snow-covered primitive trail in Wedding Canyon on November 27.

Thick fog can be seen rising into the air, almost covering half of the canyon.

The canyon is located to the north of Independence Monument. Its trail is known for its rugged paths, making it challenging due to loosen dirt and scree, which cause some sections of the area to be steep and treacherous.

National Weather Service said that this phenomenon is known as 'cold air drainage.' This cooler air lowers the surrounding air temperatures closer to the dew point and subsequently saturation.

'If there is sufficient moisture in the air, fog will begin to form in these valleys as the night progresses,' they added.
