An economic cooperation matchmaking event was held in Xiamen, southeast China's Fujian Province on Sunday.

Foreign officials hailed China's development in the green economy and are seeking more opportunities to cooperate with relevant enterprises in China.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): ASTERIO APPI, Nauru's Minister of Climate Change and National Resilience
"China's development in the green economy division, I think, is evident through its numerous initiatives when it comes to EV cars' production. I think its position in the world is a leader, I must say, when it comes to green economy development.
In terms of projects, when it comes to green economy development for Nauru, we have the policy in the framework that it's called the Nauru Energy Roadmap. I think there's a lot of potential for cooperation in this area."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): THAVISAK MANODHAM, General director of Digital Government Center, Ministry of Technology and Communications of Laos
"The Chinese government has the vision, the strategy and long-term planning for the green economy development. China is the leader in renewable energy. There are many new technologies born in China recently. So for the green economy, we have many opportunities to cooperate with Chinese companies, for example, renewable energy, the solar system, hydropower or wind power. And so Laos has a lot of rivers. We have the opportunity to create hydropower. We welcome Chinese companies to Laos."
