Basketball explodes in man's face after he overinflates it with air pump
This is the moment a basketball explodes in a man's face after he inflates it with a compressed air pump.
Footage shows the man balancing the overinflated ball before it suddenly bursts with a loud bang in Linyi, Shandong province, China.
He can be seen cradling his hand and slumping over a desk in pain as a young boy, apparently his son, rushes over to check on him.
The boy offers him tissues for his injured hands, which appear to be bleeding.
The blast is so intense that it sends dust flying and briefly affects the camera, causing the video clip to flicker in and out of black and white.
Local media said on November 24 that the man had used an air compressor pump to blow up the basketball and had put too much air inside it.
He reportedly suffered injuries to his fingers and required hospital treatment but was otherwise not seriously harmed.
