The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is continuing the Hurricane Helene cleanup operation in North Carolina two months after the storm.

Footage shows the authorities working to clear approximately 8,000 cubic yards of sand and sediment near Lake Lure on November 29.

Hurricane Helene struck the U.S. in late September 2024 as a devastating Category 4 storm that made landfall in Florida's Big Bend area. More than 230 fatalities were reported, and billions of dollars in damages occurred due to storm surges, extreme rainfall, and wind-related destruction as the storm moved rapidly inland.
