On the night of December 1, a road collapse occurred in Huadu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, creating a sinkhole approximately 20 square meters in size and 2 meters deep.

Dashcam footage shows Mr. Wang driving along the road when a large circular hole suddenly appeared in the center of the road. He managed to swerve in time and avoid disaster. However, a van parked nearby suffered severe damage, with parts of the vehicle falling into the sinkhole.

According to a report from the traffic police, the collapse caused minor injuries to the van’s 28-year-old male driver, who was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, government authorities immediately responded, managing traffic and conducting emergency repairs. By 6 am the next morning, the affected area had been filled and reinforced with concrete. Officials also conducted monitoring and geological radar scans to prevent secondary risks and ensure public safety.
